"I have been thinking about yoga for quite a while but never did anything about it until the place I work gave a free yoga class for one month. I really liked it.
I decided to research my options. I searched and found A Gentle WayYoga. I went to some classes and found it was perfect for me. There is no pressure or negativity, just positive, supportive fun. Just thinking about going to class makes me feel.good. The staff are wonderful.
I had lower back pain for years and since I started yoga it is gone. I am in my seventies and have improved flexibility and energy. I look forward to every class.
Also, the cost is reasonable and they have several payment options. They offer classes at various days and times and ability levels. I am so happy I found A Gentle Way Yoga!"

Lanita, I would like to tell you an experience I had at another yoga studio. I will not name this yoga studio out of respect. However, a wonderful girlfriend of mine invited me to a yoga studio as her guest. I went because I enjoy learning from other yoga teachers. However, they played loud, club (rock) type music so loudly through the entire practice that I could not hear the yoga teacher at all!! I had to look around and watch the other students to see what we were doing! 🙁
In addition, this young teacher came up to me and tried to adjust my body in a way that MY DOCTOR TOLD ME NOT TO!
I left that studio with an aerobics workout, and quite a bit of stress due to the loud music. I was not impressed. If I want to hear loud rock music I will go to a club downtown or a rock concert. I don't mind additional activity; however if it is yoga it should be mindful and focusing on breath work. What I encountered at this yoga studio was aerobics, loud jarring music called "Yoga".
It made me realize why I call A Gentle Way Yoga my home, as the yoga we do there is with integrity, mindfulness, soft meditative music, & focusing on breath work. I am proud to be a part of A Gentle Way Yoga!

I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the gift of yoga during this time. It means so much to me and knowing I can go to yoga makes me feel so good! Going to your 5:45 Thursday class is amazing and nurturing for my soul. I feel such a connection to 'spirit' when you speak during the session. I was pain-free after this past Thursday. I walked into class feeling a little low because of the TMJ pain, but by the end of class, I was floating on air and felt so calm. I have been saying the affirmations that you read from the Deepok Chopra book and they help lift my spirit. Thank you, Lanita, for everything and I know you're in my life for a reason."
I originally came to AGW to begin an exercise program. I live an active life but never had to consciously exercise. Once I reached my 50's I realized pretty quickly that I needed a way to consistently keep my body moving. As I had never formally exercised before I was a little nervous about hurting myself as I began.....so I chose yoga as my method. The name of the facility most definitely influenced my choice of yoga centers as it addressed my biggest fear.
I was pleasantly surprised right away by how much yoga effected the health of my whole being (physically, emotionally and spiritually). I came to AGW for a safe way to exercise and found a great source of relaxation as well......something I have always struggled with.
After about 6 months of taking PURPLE classes 3 times a week....I felt that I was ready to stretch and increase my practice a little more. I believe now I have found the perfect combination of classes that addresses all of my individual needs......and this is actually being accomplished through 3 different instructors.
Dianne's BLUE class on Monday is a great way to jump start my week.......it is getting my physical body more flexible and stronger....and definitely keeps my muscles moving.
Lanita's PURPLE class on Friday is my relaxation practice and wonderful reminder of my individual worth......I always leave this class feeling that my spirit has been nourished.....and I've been moving my muscles for 90 minutes too!
Kristen's PURPLE class on Wednesday is the perfect combination of feeding my spirit, exercising my physical body and focusing my mind! I love this class! I think there is something special about the synergy of the small room and the instructor that seems to enhance the class in a really special way!
I am so grateful that I was lead to this facility! It is the right place for me in so many ways!
I wanted you to know what attending classes at your studio means to me. I have wanted to try yoga for a long time but was intimidated by other studios. I even bought a DVD several years ago to do yoga at home but it hasn’t even been opened.
Late last year, I ended up with a neck injury that pretty much incapacitated me until physical therapy allowed movement again and yoga was a recommended form of exercise to help loosen my neck and for my overall well being.
After meeting with you after the first of the year, I began taking chair classes with Carolyn and it wasn’t long before I moved to Michelle’s gentle classes as I was able to move more. While out of work, I attended as many classes as I could. Everyone at the studio, including Michelle at the front desk, was so supportive and determined to make me comfortable. They always made sure I was physically supported while doing poses and expressed concern over my injury.
It became difficult to attend classes once I returned to work so I was excited to find classes at 6:45. I come straight from work so I arrive early and use the time to relax before classes.
I alternate between your classes and Sean’s on Monday nights and I attend Amy’s classes on Thursdays. I look forward to all my classes. Your classes help me focus on being calm and while Sean’s classes challenge me, it’s a good thing. Amy’s classes help me concentrate on relaxing. I have never felt intimidated or anxious in your studio. Everyone is patient while working with those of us who have neglected our bodies far too long.
Anyway, I wanted to share with you my experiences and to let you and your staff know that what you do is important and appreciated."

I have gone down one full clothing size since beginning yoga with you, your beautiful teachers, and kind students about three months ago. I lost this size without even one stitch of dieting.
