200-Hr Certified at A Gentle Way Yoga Center
Hi, I’m Jeff Cox and I love sharing yoga with both experienced and new students. My newer students report that my style of teaching feels accessible, allowing them to relax and turn inwards, while working to feel more secure in their body rather than more insecure. Experienced practitioners report that having an opportunity to participate in a practice that allows them to more deeply turn inward, helps them to balance their more active classes. Most yoga students report benefit from the deep relaxation and intention setting exercises included in my classes.
When I started practicing yoga I was focused more on fitness and healing a badly damaged back than experiencing the traditional benefits of Yoga— I just did not understand the way Yoga can be a complete system, capable of producing extraordinary emotional, physical, and spiritual healing … But here is what I found: yoga is about tapping into an amazing regenerative system of natural healing using one’s own internal resources to effect profound change. One of my primary life values is empowering others and is what I am blessed to be able to do in my day job as a psychotherapist. Now I am seeing teaching Yoga as an opportunity to expand on my life’s purpose. My training in the Aalamba style of yoga from my teacher training here at A Gentle Way, coupled with my trainings in integrating Yoga philosophy I have experienced while working with other master teachers, has prepared me to bring my own empowering style of yoga here to support students at AGW in achieving something I know matters to them; Peace of mind, a sense of groundedness, and an experience of profound power in their own lives. It is so satisfying and meaningful to me to have students say “I have never been able to slow down and relax, in your class I finally can” So if you are ready to take the the next step in your own healing journey, please join me, Jeff Cox, on Sunday nights. I look forward to seeing you soon.
