Sean Ryan’s first yoga experience was at A Gentle Way. Over 10 years ago his mother brought him to his first yoga class to help him heal from an injury. Since that time, Sean has practiced many different styles of yoga, most of which focused solely on asana (poses). While he enjoyed the physical aspects of these classes, Sean always felt that there was something missing–the spiritual experience he’d only felt when practicing at A Gentle Way.
Sean didn’t hesitate when the opportunity to enroll in Aalamba Yoga Teacher Training at AGW arose. While his primary physical background is in weight-lifting, he has always used yoga’s calming spiritual practices to counterbalance the intensity of weight training. This balance of energies is apparent in his Functional Movement Hatha Yoga, where he teaches a break-down of the asanas while also guiding students into a deeper universal awareness.
