Yoga for Seniors
A steady, consistent yoga practice that involves stretching, poses that keep our body well oiled and lubricated, gentle strength building, conscious breathing, deep relaxation and meditation is known to slow the aging process and teaches us how to live comfortably with the body we are in today.
Our Center has a large Senior population. We specialize in slowing down yoga, and making it fun, safe, and doable for you. Most yoga schools train their teachers how to teach routines, but we train our teachers how to customize each class for the needs of the students attending.
If you are a Senior that can easily move from floor to standing, and has been taking care of yourself on a regular basis, you will be able to enjoy all of our different styles, classes and teachers. (Please make sure you can easily do our BLUE classes before attending our BROWN classes)
As we age it is important to start slowing down to restorative and renew your bodies energies, so mixing up your class styles at our Center is important. Even if you like active yoga, it will be important to balance your body and mind with our healing GREEN and PURPLE classes.
If you are a Senior you can no longer get up and down off the floor, our CHAIRS, WALLS, AND BALLS CLASSES will be perfect for you!
