Lanita Varshell, Founder of A Gentle Way, will donate a Chair Yoga and a Yoga Lecture and Diane Ambrosini, Master Yoga Teacher and Author of, “Instructing Hatha Yoga: A Guide for Teachers and Students” will also offer a class. A Gentle Way Yoga Teacher, Kristin Akerele will also participate, by donating a Gentle-Moderate class. She also works with the Sean O’Shea Foundation teaching yoga to kids with cancer at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.
On July 22, 2017, attend one or all of our donation-based yoga classes with different A Gentle Way Yoga Teachers. Enjoy 15 min breaks in-between each class in the Aalamba Room for light refreshments and socializing. We look forward to seeing you here and appreciate your donations to the Sean ‘O Shea Foundation!

Lanita Varshell, E-RYT, C-IAYT, and YACEP. Lanita Varshell is the owner of A Gentle Way Yoga Center, and founder-creator of both of our trademarked styles of yoga: MIMSY – Meditation in Movement Style, and Aalamba – Yoga with Support. She has taught over 10,000 classes, and has certified yoga teachers since 2000. Lanita Varshell holds designations with the Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 500 and a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider® (YACEP®). She is also a certified IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist, and has taught over 750 private therapy sessions. Lanita is a vibrant, plus size woman who has been teaching Yoga and Yoga Therapy full time since 1996. She has owned and managed a Yoga Center since 2000. Challenged all her life with body and weight challenges, depression, and fibromyalgia, Lanita is living proof that yoga can teach you how to release pain and live joyfully, despite your physical or emotional limitations.
Diane Ambrosini, Master Yoga Teacher Offering Blue Moderate 3:00-3:45PM
Diane Ambrosini is a master yoga teacher and movement science specialist who has practiced yoga since 1997. Diane has worked as a coach, personal fitness trainer, hospital laboratory kinesiologist, and is currently a full-time yoga instructor. Early on, Diane Ambrosini generally taught the more rigorous and physically active styles of hatha yoga. Since teaching at A Gentle Way, she has learned to meld a deeper focus on relaxation and peacefulness in every style of yoga she teaches. Her classes allow active students to slow down a bit and appreciate inner and outer calm, while allowing less active students to lovingly explore how movement helps tap into inner and outer strength. She believes everyone can practice yoga, and that with practice, we can all rediscover our truest Self!
Kristin Akerle, Yoga Teacher Offering Purple Gentle-Moderate 4:00-4:45PM
Kristin Akerele joined A Gentle Way after completing her 200hr Yoga Alliance training with Pilgrimage of the Heart Yoga in San Diego, Ca. Kristin loves teaching and sharing the gift of yoga with her students and helping them discover their true selves through the poses and their breath. She also enjoys incorporating meditation and yoga philosophy in her classes. She teaches a wide range of classes from Gentle to Active Flow and encourages students to slow down and feel – always listening to their bodies. Learning and sharing yoga is a lifelong journey for her. Kristin Akerele is continues learning and sharing this lifelong journey of yoga while training in the 300-Hr Advanced Teacher Training Program at A Gentle Way.
