YOGA CLASS COLORS
That our BLUE CLASSES are what most studios are calling “Gentle Yoga” on their schedule?
HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED…
Why we do we use colors instead of “levels” to describe our classes, like other studios?
Because yoga class colors, instead of levels, promote a more balanced yoga practice. I have watched students practice yoga for over 20 years now, and I have noticed that the students who stick with only one style, and only one teacher do not always progress at our Center as much as the students who mix up the different classes, teachers and styles.
I have seen students who only take active classes injure themselves more often. And I’ve seen students who only take slower, or softer classes not discover the courage and power held inherently within their body.
Injuries are often due to repeating the same movements, in the same way over and over again. Stagnation occurs when we don’t venture out from our self-made cocoons. Yoga class colors, instead of levels, promote a more balanced yoga practice. Balance is the key!
SO WE USE COLORS INSTEAD OF LEVELS
Think of each color as an important part of a well-rounded yoga meal.
Mix as many color levels as you are physically able to do for a balanced yoga body-mind-spirit practice.
Take a weekly class you love, and then challenge yourself with a more advanced yoga class color.
Remember: Sometimes your “advanced” practice is slowing down and diving deeper into yoga breath and philosophy. And sometimes it may be to physically challenging yourself a bit more.
