This is how A Gentle Way began with this unique style that bridges the gap between Classical and Restorative yoga. These classes begin lying on your back supported by any props that comfort and support your body. Ancient relaxation techniques are taught with mindfulness and breath focus.

MIMSY is a somatic, mindfulness and breath focused practice with modern day yoga philosophy woven in. It begins at the easiest of moments and works its’ way up to classical yoga asana. MIMSY is known to release deep seated trauma out of the body and mind. It is a nurturing practice for those who are physically and emotionally exhausted. It is an advanced practice for the physically fit who have a hard time being still and practicing traditional meditation. It is a YIN-style practice tapping into the soft energy body and holding poses for longer periods of time. MIMSY is a DEEPER, but not physically harder asana practice.

MIMSY is unique in that it is also very physically doable for beginners and health-challenged bodies.

It is a great starting place for those new to moving their body, in need of deep stress relief, students who need help recovering from injury, or for those who cannot be on their hands and knees.

MIMSY is very healing for those in physical or emotional pain, and those moving through cancer or chronic illness.

MIMSY is the style of yoga that many healers use to nurture and care for themselves.
It is a very complete practice that allows the earth to support you – making it a very physically safe practice.
